Sadness poured into her heart, the organ clenching around the ache like a fist around a blade, trying to save itself and getting hurt in the process. She had once loved coming to this house. Not simply because she enjoyed playing in it, or taking in the orchard and the gardens and the woods, but because Ben was here. Because Ben had been her best friend and the only person she demanded to see, until he wasn’t. Until his eyes grew cold and his touch disappeared and he no longer smiled or hugged her or teased her. Until something broke inside of him, leaving sharp-edged pieces scattered in his soul, none of which seemed to fit back together right.

I stayed up most night working on chapter 26 of Programmer’s Guide but it’s not ready still. I have about 10k words right now and the last three sections still need more clean up.

I decided not to rush releasing before it’s ready. Will be uploaded in the next few days.
