I remember when, only four years ago, Sutcliffe relentlessly attacked an opponent for proposing to take on debt to build just $250m of critical transportation infrastructure.
Ottawa is growing, and we need to make sure our infrastructure keeps up. Today, I introduced an ambitious $10-billion infrastructure plan to protect neighbourhoods from flooding, fix our roads and intersections, improve transit, and build more parks and recreation facilities.

A key component of the Cambridge Analytica outrage was your friends subjecting you to data theft without your consent or knowledge. Facebook is running the same playbook on your text messages. Even if you’re not on Meta properties, they’re ingesting your interactions.

i hope that men notice how whenever a rape story gets widespread coverage, women use it as an opportunity to vent about how fucking disgusting we think many of you are and how many have made our lives measurably worse, and take a few moments to deeply process that.

One of the most effective tools at countering the creep of invasive surveillance tech in an era of oligarchs and little government regulation has been shame (cc @olufemiotaiwo.bsky.social). “Pervert glasses” is a great example. Gotta do the same for this stupid amulet.
“Everyone hates cameras in smart glasses. But if the camera is contained in a charm you wear around your neck, it shifts the agency. Suddenly, you’re not recording people. It’s just a cute little animated avatar looking out on the world.”

The literacy crisis is not just referring to people's ability to literally read and write. It's also people's inability to read for context.

I've been a public educator for over 20 years and I have never, ever seen it this bad.

Everyone wants to keep summer hours for evening sun but no one thinks seriously about the 9am darkness part.
Just looking up sunrise times for the next few months as one does, and I'm realizing that sunrise in Calgary under the new time zone rules will be after 9AM between November 20 and February 9. Sigh.

In 2024, the US imported ~12 million metric tons of potassic fertilizers from Canada (hillnotes.ca/2025/06/05/p...)

Specialized ships can carry ~60k metric tons, tho container ships www.sasktoday.ca/central/loca...)

So we'd need at least 200 ships loaded from [checks notes] Belarus
Trump: "The United States is working on a massive Deal with respect to the purchase of Potash from Belarus. The pricing would be for substantially less than we are currently paying to Canada, very good news for our Farmers and Ranchers. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

His 2.5% tax increases are not covering police budget increases at about 4.4% a year on average. 2026 was 6.7%? So what is the police budget going to be in 2027 with Sutcliffe in charge, and, where is he nickel and diming the other things we need in the name of “#SafetyTheatre”?
If I'm re-elected, I’ll hire 350 more police officers, firefighters and paramedics to increase service and reduce response times. See my full plan: marksutcliffe.ca/priorities/s...
