It's that time of the year when students apply to Professors for MSc, PhD or PDF mentorship. Great!

Tip: Please remember to state in your email, where you received your undergraduate or graduate degrees, country & year. Be unique. Stand out.

Preprint from marignanilab.com. LKB1 isn't just a tumour suppressor kinase with metabolic function; there's more😁.

We used scRNAseq, CRISPR, patient tumours, METABRIC genomics & new mouse model to ask:what is the impact of losing LKB1 expression on breast cancer?

This isn't just a mission. It's humanity's return to deep space and the first step toward a permanent lunar presence.

The Moon is waiting. 🌕

🚀 History is happening.

For the 1st time in 53yrs, humans are on their way to the Moon.

Happy International Women's Day! Today, I am celebrating the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women that lift me. In a world facing instability, it's women and girls who are often most affected, facing increased risks and deeper inequalities.

Imagine that. Women need a Bill that ensures women's right to healthcare.

If U are 🇨🇦, and an adult, U pay taxes that go towards our social healthcare system. Therefore, all persons in 🇨🇦 are entitled to healthcare equally. Again, all people are entitled to healthcare.
The second reading of Bill S-243. An act to establish a national framework for women's health in Canada.

The Suffragette of 1917-1918 would be pleased.

Reviewer#3, when applicant details life threatening disease(s) as reason 4 delayed productivity, you don't have 2 point out "concern 4 lack of productivity, though applicant has had health concerns".

This comment is evil.

Empathy is a sign of humanity. Do better!

Really sorry to hear that reviewers are abusing people with diseases. Hiding behind a screen does not take courage. It is cowardice. Bully tactics.

Sad commentary on the quality of reviewers. In person review panels hold reviewers accountable.

Do better #CIHR
13% success rates at #CIHR, is a really 87% fail rate for>4000 scientists. At a time when 🇨🇦 is investing millions to recruit more scientist into a broken funding environment. 🇨🇦, U need a strong science foundation 2 attract success. #CIHR, fix your science foundation, it is eroding in real time

We were devastated to hear of the passing of the Honourable Dr. Kirsty Duncan.
A giant in science and public service, she was also kind and deeply caring, fighting tirelessly for equity for women and girls in science.
We honour her legacy and extend our deepest condolences.

Devastated to learn of the passing of Dr. Kirsty Duncan. She was a brilliant scientist, a fierce advocate for safe sport, and a truly kind person.

Canada has lost a real champion for #STEM. Our hearts goes out to her family and loved ones. What a tremendous loss. #KirstyDuncan #CdnPoli

Review: "The Tumor Suppressor Kinase LKB1: Metabolic Nexus"

LKB1 loss is associated with multiple malignancies and causes metabolic reprograming to increase glycolysis and lactate production, elevate hexosamine biosynthesis and glutamine metabolism.
