icymi! - I’m happy to say even over 12 hours after release I’m not filled with a deep resentment and loathing over this one, which means it’s pretty good!
also I’m really sorry to say that I’ve really been fuckin w/Lanterns. I started it contemporaneously with Reacher (mostly wanted to see one of the books I’ve read on-screen), and was struggling to engage with Reacher at all because everything it did was being pissed on by Lanterns.

Polanski is one thing but why John Swinney has not brought the full force of Police Scotland to bear on the far-right gangs trying to burn down houses in Glasgow and then parading the suspects on TV in cuffs whilst saying how much Andy Burnham can learn from the Scottish Government is beyond me
I think the most appalling part of this is that even the liberal/left opposition seems genuinely incapable of a hard hitting attack on the government here

The response of the police on Saturday was probably explicable because of manpower. They didn't have the numbers to make arrests in Dover, the weekend after Notting Hill and during the football.
