Isaiah was famously sent by God to warn Judah that trusting in empire would lead to their destruction. Invoking the voice of God to promote asinine military campaigns is taking the Lord’s name in vain.

What if there is something so much more sinister about AI than just exploitation and greed?

What if the Apocalypse Bunker class has fully embraced our complete destruction by climate change, and AI is how they intend to mimic society once we're all gone?

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

"Heather. Come on. Mormonism?"

Yes, and here is today's reason.

Because in MY religious tradition, David is *never* going to the Celestial Kingdom for what he did to Bathsheba.

There is no forgiveness for him. Not from her, and not from God.

And Mormon men should f🤬king think about that more.

Zero surprise that these are explicitly designed to cause pain without leaving a mark, not to incapacitate.

Yes, we're spending $20M to buy ICE agents torture devices.

Some children in Dilley were so distraught they cut themselves or talked about suicide, parents told ProPublica.

They said kids lost their appetites after finding worms and mold on their food, had trouble sleeping, and were constantly sick.

This is an absolute travesty.

Northwestern has, probably, the 2nd best library collection for African History/Studies in the USA (behind Yale and ahead of MSU, UCLA, etc).

A self-inflicted wound that is absolutely, 100% unnecessary given the massive wealth of Northwestern--north of $15 billion.

If the sky is blue where you are, please send pics.

I haven't seen the sky in weeks because of wildfire smoke.

It's beginning to feel like I will never see her beautiful face again.

There is no rudeness, no entitlement, no anti-social and selfish madness you cannot witness at the average American hotel.

The class of people in this country with expendable income is a scourge upon the working classes.

Hospitality is where any faith in the human race goes to die.

I would like to answer his question!

"What happened here?"

Because Danville, Virginia is one of the most important towns in America you've never heard of.

🧵
This Danville, VA city council candidate made a very dramatic video about sidewalks and public safety, and I love it and him.

Worrying about a possible milkshake duck situation, I looked at his FB page, but he seems ok. Juneteenth celebrations, community outreach, Methodists. A solid old gent.

I watched a white man try to abduct a teenage girl yesterday at my job.

She came to us for help.

That's the only reason nothing bad happened to her. She came to us for help, we protected her, and didn't stop protecting her until she was safe.

We gave her back to her mother, safe and sound.
