UI Engineer at Netflix (all opinions are mine) out of Brentwood, CA. Has far too much Lego and knows far too much about Star Trek.
Agreed, noneuclidean furniture really belongs in something more like The Langoliers.
Oh Jesus - @letterboxd.social can you help us get this AI slop away from our series?

Presumably, Pike said “lol beam my horse to the barn,” but Star Trek hasn’t explored how animals experience the transporter. Does the horse materialize in their stable and just be chill and eat some alfalfa, or are they like “What in the ever-loving fuck?!” and just flip out? Do they get used to it?
Um, hello? Chris? HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO?

Where the hell are you? One minute you were talking to a dude on a shuttle and the nex—oh no.

OH NO.

The _fuck_ it will. My browser tabs are proof that I’m human, dammit.
Safari 27 will use AI to automatically group your browser tabs
Likely debuting at WWDC, Safari users will soon find it will be easier to create groups of tabs, with a test version of the browser for the 27 operating systems using AI to group them for you.

@gruber.foo - interestingly given your recent musings on F1 AVP content, I noticed that the Lapz AVP app that got shuttered in late 2024 got updated on TestFlight a month ago. Did they resolve the complaints from F1 and just not get picked up by the news cycle, or is this a new development?

My son is playing the new “Star Trek: Voyager - Across The Unknown” strategy game, and as someone who is terrible at those kind of games, to me it’s making a compelling case that everyone who thought the franchise should have emphasized resource gathering and repair were dead wrong.

“MAHA™” really sums it up, doesn’t it?
RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef:

"Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."

Age verification? I literally wrote a post celebrating CANYON.MID yesterday.
Age verification? I can whistle a 2400 baud modem off.
Age verification? My first computer was a brand-new Commodore 64. (I was 6.)

Some days, you wake up with a song in your heart. And if you’re very, *very* lucky, that song is CANYON.MID.

When I did computer repair, there was a particular model of circa 2000 HP computer case that would draw blood every time I worked on one.

The 1990 behemoths that weighed as much as a car? Nope? This asshole? It *hungers*.

If you’ve ever got imposter syndrome, just remember that Bari Weiss let dozens of opportunities to spike the CECOT story pass her by, only to elect to do so at almost the worst possible moment and all for naught because Canada aired it anyway.

This is like if Phillip Morris printed “you may not contract cancer while using this product” inside the bottom flap of a pack of cigarettes and then arguing that indemnifies them against claims that cigarettes give you cancer.

Gemini’s about to learn a whole lot about fake PayPal receipts for purchasing Etherium and FREE HOME DEPOT GIFT CARDS.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
