Your reminder that despite the referendum results this fall, the UCP may well be planning to guarantee continued rule by giving more power to rural voters. Abandoning the long-time independent commission for a political process is a very bad sign.

Doesn’t look like a great year for western Canadian skiing!!
I built a statistical model to forecast ski conditions using seasonal climate models. Summit at Snoqualmie in Washington has the worst ski forecast in the western US this winter. Makes sense given the “El Niño on steroids” model signal. Go south for better skiing ⛷️

Perfectly lovely ride to the UofA tonight for a lecture. And I didn’t have to spend 10 minutes trying to get out of the Timms Centre parking lot! They could encourage more people to not drive by not providing a whole paragraph on free parking options w/o reference to other transportation! #yegbike

#yeg do the anti-infill crowd, worried about their property value, understand how big a hit they will take when the UCP attempt to institute anti-immigrant policies drives immigration down? Or if the separation debate continues? More vacancies = falling rents and depressed housing prices.

When the builder was prepping to demolish the house 2 doors down for an infill, I asked if they were sending all to the dump. Then negotiated the fencing materials (all PT) so they didn’t have to pay to dispose. Now those materials are becoming a new fence for my place. #yeg #reuse

The sinkhole at 121 St and 114 Ave active transport intersection keeps getting bigger. I wonder if Epcor would fully blockade a road intersection for as long as this will take? Going across the grass is ok for now, but if not fixed by winter will be an "issue". #yeg #yegbike

So they are finally backfilling the enormous hole they have created for a retaining wall on 111 Ave between 120 and 121 st to finish the 111 Ave active mobility stretch. I don't know why such a complicated (expensive) approach was needed but maybe it will be usable before winter?

This looks like a crap show. Affirming that you CANNOT vote in person when that wasn't required to request the ballot? Contradictory info on how to fold your ballots? In half, or Fold 1-Fold 2. A ruse to reject ballots or just incompetence? A plan to reject voters who won't affirm a lie but
Alberta government includes a threat in the mail-in ballot envelope saying if you could vote in person but vote by mail instead, you get a $50,000.00 fine & 2 years in jail. Elections Alberta says this is just a mistake and you should vote by mail anyway. 😬Not reassured. #abpoli #yeg #yyc #yql
