"What caused that first detonation? It was an event (which isn’t the right word) which didn’t prove fatal, not quite, but which made Willem aware that his sense of himself, of the inside, outside, could disintegrate in a flash." - Simon Firth mrbullbull.com/newbull/micr...

New work up in @mrbullbull.bsky.social today!

Bull has been a mag that I've read for years and been submitting to forever. I love the work they put out and I'm very grateful to have this story on their site.

This is my story! Thanks to Bull Lit for championing this. It's actually a small section of the novel that I'm currently shopping to agents. Give it a read.
"At the sink, Devin shoveled week-old pink unicorn cake into his mouth with a toddler’s spoon. Treacly sweet, it nuked his taste buds, leaving a pudding-like mouthfeel. It was terrible. He took another bite." - Kyle Joseph Kennedy mrbullbull.com/newbull/flas...

"There was talk about how the corpse, back when it was a man named Steve, wasn’t particularly full of life. How he didn’t particularly light up a room when he entered it. In fact, no one ever noticed when he was in the room." - Joseph Linscott mrbullbull.com/newbull/fict...

My first published story set in #LimerickCity had to feature Georgian Limerick.
I love the quiet, steady pacing of this story, as Oskar navigates the city, forever a stranger in his new home but no longer belonging to where he came from either.

"No one at the garage cares who he is. He’s simply Oskar, who does oil changes, checks spark plugs, changes bulbs and belts, all the jobs the real mechanics don’t want to bother with. They don’t know, or care to know, where Slovenia is." @margaretcahillbsky.bsky.social mrbullbull.com/newbull/fict...

Issue #14 of my column MOANS FROM THE CONDIMENT FRIDGE @mrbullbull.bsky.social , titled DOUBLE FEATURE

This issue is about the drive-in I went to with my father, why decades later I didn't attend his funeral. It's old movies and complicated relationships
