An arXiv paper surveys 5,285 NeurIPS 2025 papers and finds environmental impact reporting is nearly non-existent, proposing standardised metrics and a tool called carbonbenchmark to track LLM training and inference emissions. The authors also…

They have erased the history of the tech industry and tech innovation so that their workers don’t ask what happened to prior generations of innovators and innovations. It’s a very intentional strategy.
This is like I was saying the other day how it is a norm in the VC world to hire college dropouts (and encourage people to dropout) so that tech workers are easily malleable and not curious or knowledgable of the harms they are participating in.
Palantir shifting from hiring only "Ivy or Ivy-equivalent" degrees to hiring only out of high school is an admission that "training" and "talent" were never factors at all. They were looking for packaging & prestige, and now they're looking for ignorance & impressionability.

The newly launched America.gov website is an LLM built on data from decades of actual work from people who made digital gov accessible and secure.

Meanwhile, the current fed refuses to do anything well, so this LLM is a guaranteed security, privacy and accessibility risk.

So yeah don’t use it.

NEW from me:

Over the last 4 years, America has lost more than 200k jobs in creative fields like publishing, film, TV, or graphic design. It's the worst stretch for arts jobs outside of recessions.

How much is AI to blame? And can the arts' business model survive?🧵

Why is the U.S. public so much more negative on AI than almost anyone else?

Well, I think the fact that the U.S. AI industry is being lead by a bunch of very visible, crazy weirdos who talk about how AI will take everyone’s job and maybe kill us all the time is a pretty key factor.
