This absolutely lovely interview with Lori Stratton for @pulp.aadl.org is out! So grateful for the chance to share about my exhibit, and hoping it leads to more artistic opportunities 🙏🏾🥰 #a2council
Ryan Henyard’s photography exhibition shows the connection between nature & Washtenaw County's Black community. We spoke to the photographer about “Reclaiming the Wild,” which runs through 12/31 at the African American Cultural & Historical Museum of Washtenaw County. pulp.aadl.org/node/675338

For the folks who still insist that all people in power want is more money. They’re cutting off one of their highest-selling authors for opposing a genocide. They’ll always have enough money. What they want is total control over public cultural life.

Again, that NYTs article that had my senator, slotkin, as a face of receiving political violence, when Omar has been getting this shit since the first trump presidency- just disgusting.

A mark of a good social media platform is that you feel constant social pressure to litigate in public why and how you're using it, and definitely of your own free will, for the benefit of the people who do not

I've long held that you only get the kind of enjoyable wacky results in college football, but checking in on the NFL today has me trying to figure out what the holy hell happened lol

It's actually not complicated. You end homelessness with safe, dignified housing people can afford.

It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some great unsolvable mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes.

This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because enormous wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.

So let me know if you want to come to a virtual talk next wk on “Reimagining Leadership.“ Time tbd. The focus is on cultivating critical, creative, and caring capacities in medicine, but I think it applies beyond that.

I’m pretty sure we can do this without any leaders.

Instead of the talk I spent hours preparing, they urged me to switch to a fireside chat and talk about my professional “journey.” But… this is the journey.

And walking away is also movement.

So they asked me to delete half the deck:
•screenshots of scientific articles
•George Floyd’s autopsy report
•med students holding signs for “White Coats for Black Lives”
•a cartoonish image of Musk lest we offend the trillionaire
•Butler quote: “choose your leaders with wisdom & forethought” ETC

I’m in DC scheduled to give this talk today. But the organizers flagged slides in my deck that mention racism, structural gaslighting, New Jim Code and other themes that are off limits in the Land of the Free.

it would disrupt a fair amount of ICE arrests if people could stop their local police from doing the kind of harassing, low-level "quality of life" policing that has plagued marginalized people in this country for decades.

About to testify in favor of this and am going to lift up @brian-goldstone.bsky.social's amazing book There is No Place for Us, which details how corporate behaviors directly lead to people being pushed into homelessness, where they are still used as instruments of profit for shareholders.
More than half of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

Starbuck's CEO took home $31 million - 1,794 times more their median worker.

Live Nation's CEO made $33 million - 976 times the median pay.

The system has been rigged against the working class, but the Fair Share Tax starts to change that.
Our Fair Share Tax proposal is coming to Committee of the Whole this Thursday morning at 9:30. If you think it’s a good idea to cut taxes for small businesses, raise taxes on large mega corporations, while raising more money to fund critical services then we need to hear from you.

2) The Employment Authorization Code for DACA recipients
