Part of what Mamdani is doing is explaining to people how government works. We've had 50 years of the GOP making sure it doesn't do anything but hurt and troll, while they yell that it's useless.

Mamdani is like "no, it's for fixing shit and making decisions" and

If you want a sense of how integral the Kennedy Center is to the DC skyline, watch this landing video. It’s the first thing people see when crossing the Potomac from Virginia. This is what Trump wants to demolish because he can’t put his name on it.
I must have made this approach a hundred times and I never tire of it.
Pro tip: Always get a window seat on the left side if you’re lucky enough to fly into DCA from the western approach. The view is breathtaking.

Jon Ossoff: This administration is horrible. I hate these people. We should put them in jail. I'm pissed

Voters: This guy is cool

This is the Republican Party. Corrupt as hell, constantly starting wars, blowing up the deficit, giving tax cuts for billionaires, bailing out corporations, cutting health care, making everything more expensive, while serving up culture war drivel to distract you from all that.

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft.
Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Interesting that they don’t apply “we’re not smart enough to regulate this” to, for example, abortion.
Rick Scott: "With regard to destroying mankind, these companies need to do the right thing on their own. We're not going to get smart enough to regulate them. We're not going to get something done up here."

Pretty insightful stuff here from Bret Stephens, who admits he's literally as out of touch as possible with every New Yorker alive right now. Zohran is the most popular politician in the country, Dem leadership is historically unpopular, and he's just... the opposite. And he works for the NY Times.

it was funny that nobody in the tech press last week thought to ask this 27-year-old anthropic doomsday "whistleblower" if he voted for the corrupt authoritarian sociopath that cheerfully destroyed U.S. regulatory autonomy (including numerous essential cybersecurity programs)
As I warned you: the superstar media darling AI quitter is explicitly agreeing with Trump and claiming climate threats are "overplayed".

Effective altruism / rationalism is a cult of broken priorities that denies the threat of fossil fuels. This is why Anthropic loves burning gas for power.
