No toxic positivity. No blame-the-teacher bullshit. Just systems, strategies, and support designed for real classrooms.

Behavior is information. Structure matters. Clarity changes outcomes.

If you found me through my blunt replies, some good news & bad news.

When observing absurdities, I think about structure: conditions & systems that help people thrive or barely survive.

Hope it helps you better understand systems you experience & question when people are asked to carry too much.
You can get really good at reminding, redirecting and correcting people. Or you can get curious about why the system keeps requiring so much reminding, redirecting and correcting.

We spend a lot of time getting better at solving recurring problems.

Sometimes we should be asking why the problem gets another opportunity to recur every damn day.

I have no interest in Twitter-like // x-like behavior on Bluesky. It’s one thing to be provocative, spark a conversation, and engage in conversation. It’s quite another to be vitriolic.

Being furious isn’t enough. Posting isn’t enough. Turn that anger into votes. Show up for the midterms. Bring everyone you can. Make Trump and every Republican enabling him answer at the ballot box.

A well-designed environment answers questions.

Where does this go?
What happens next?
How do I start?
What do I do if I’m stuck?

Clarity doesn’t always need to come from a person.

PSA: If you can pick up an extra item or two (or more) when you’re grocery shopping, please do and bring it to your local food bank or community services building. If you can donate gift cards, please do.

Fuel and heating assistance is also a high need as we head into the fall and then winter.

If your system requires one person to remember everything AND remind everyone else about it, congratulations: You have created a person-dependent system.

Repeated questions aren’t annoying, they’re data.

What does the person keep needing that the system keeps failing to provide?

Every bit of capacity spent figuring out the system is capacity unavailable for whatever the system exists to help people do. Uncertainty Has a Cost. #EduSky #CalmIsBuilt

The people who designed the system already know how it works. Everyone else has to figure it out. That difference matters more than we think.

We don’t see the 14 questions someone had to answer in their head before they could get started.

Uncertainty is work, and not the productive kind.

The kind your brain has to do before it can get to the work you were actually supposed to be doing.

If only we had a Congress that appropriated how tax dollars are spent. And only if we had a constitution that states Congress’s job is precisely to do that.

What do people keep needing from me that they should be able to get from the system?
