I'm Will Couper, that writer you've never heard of. I toil away, sending out horror, fantasy, and (rare) sci-fi. Mostly responsive to stimuli. I'll block bigots on sight.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 622:
The only way to be a writer is to write. The other stuff - going to literary parties, commenting on other writers, talking loudly about the state of the modern novel, developing bizarre authorial quirks - if it doesn’t include *actual writing*, it’s just cosplay.

NEW: Brown Brothers Media is the most successful media company you've never heard of. For years, its success was fueled by AI, fake writers, and fake reporting.

When we started asking questions, BBM started mass-deleting content. Somehow, what came next was even worse.

something i learned about journalism during the iraq war: all the outlets who had "access" to key figures - people like bush, cheney, rice, senior dems, etc - these are all the people who got the story wrong. it was the reporters working outside the system, usually far from dc, who got it right.
