The problem with trying to hide your true beliefs is that eventually you have to say things out loud. For example, "Let's find ways to advocate for feminism that don't alienate men!" okay well eventually you're going to say that women are oppressed by men, or abandon the project of liberating women.
so at no point can you actually pivot to fighting for people because oh no, you cannot possibly afford to alienate *this* group, the random haley voters and such they were hoping they'd pull in by the score. any advances and protections for minorities has to be done invisibly, if at all.
