The Levy Review of England’s GICs concluded that waiting times were unacceptable, that this had serious knock on effects on patient welfare, and that the unnecessary waits for surgery also put unnecessary additional strain on the services (requiring repeated, redundant 6 monthly reviews)

The Welsh Gender Service has now released a statement regarding the cancellation of all surgeries:
'We have been asked to immediately pause referrals from the WGS for gender affirming surgery and existing scheduled surgeries while further independent clinical review work is carried out.'

When the NHS talk about “concerns regarding referral appropriateness” they mean they want cis people to have more control over our bodies. But I take the much simpler stance that if someone wants to change sex that’s their business. Like abortion or fertility help it should be fast and on demand.

The Reform promise to prioritise social housing for people *born* in the UK, as well as UK nationals, raises all sorts of questions, not least - would they exclude children born overseas as a parent is serving in the armed forces? Presumably so. But that’s just one complication.

For those who are aware of Oxford's transphobes it will be no surprise to see Biggs at the top of this list. Transphobia and racism go hand in hand.

This is a clear example how easily it was for Nazi Academics to take over the academy in the 1930s and 1940s. People will defend people whose views would see them all destroyed and most in camps.

This sucks. It’s likely due to the fact that our division began this policy, not the overall university. The division wanted to keep the policy but it placed pressure on the overall uni to roll out a good policy uni-wide. Instead they decided to make MPLS reverse a good thing, shafting ECR parents
Oxford University's Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division will no longer underwrite parental leave for all fixed-term researchers. This reverses its previous policy where all fixed-term researchers had their contracts extended to cover parental leave, regardless of funding.
