Scenes such as this where the light is reflecting on the water are accomplished through a process called "backlighting", "underlighting" or "bipack glow". To create the effect a matte is cut and light is shone through the holes.

“Do you think HUMAN CREATIVITY matters?

Most people don't spend a lot of time thinking about poetry until their father dies, you go to a funeral, you lose a child, somebody breaks your heart & that's when Art’s not a luxury it's sustenance.” — ETHAN HAWKE

Sony/PlayStation and Microsoft/Xbox in a true blue Race to the Bottom right now. Incredible to watch. Meanwhile Nintendo said "What if Kirby was on THE TRUMAN SHOW?". What a time.

Oh my...

It reminded me of how a certain development studio I worked with had the entire game run on Unreal Engine 4, but all the menus were on a web based engine, continuously running in the background, and a mess to localize. Literally duct taped together, and causing continuous memory leaks.
You want to know why your thing sucks now? There's a 50/50 chance it is secretly a web browser and site for no good reason instead of a real computer program.

I don't know why we've turned many things that should not be web dev into web dev, but here we are.

LRT: RIDERS OF JUSTICE is one of my favorite Mads pictures (that's a packed list, mind). One of those movies that hits you like a lightning bolt. I was certainly inspired after sitting with it five years ago.

RIDERS FOR JUSTICE is like a Liam Neeson revenge thriller where the hard-bitten killer has to depend on a bunch of traumatised nerds to get what he's looking for, and who finally understands that his particular set of skills doesn't include kindness or any way of navigating human relationships.

A little post to say that if what you want is grown-up, well-written, funny but also heartbreaking dramas about men who are a mystery to themselves but are doing their best to change that, the Mads Mikkelsen/Anders Thomas Jensen collaborations are what you want. Haven't seen a bad one yet.

Directed this a few years back and I’m extremely proud of it. Getting some potential movement on a feature version of this story but the more people watch it the greater the likelihood it gets made.
Imagine you sign up for a rideshare gig app after you get laid off.

Imagine it starts offering gigs that break the law in exchange for thousands of dollars for a night of work.

What happens when it starts blackmailing you into killing your best friend?
