Bart Eeckhout is hoofdcommentator van De Morgen. Hij schrijft dat de vrije meningsuiting er niet is voor wie ons gelijk geeft, maar voor wie ons tegen de haren strijkt, beschaafd of onbeschoft.

Pedantic I know, but does this read to any of you like spacex is *planning* factories on the moon? Seems like just any other fact free Elon rant, unsure if he was aware of being in an earnings call.

Published estimates of AI energy use per prompt (~0.3 watt-hours) appear reassuring small. But they are increasingly disconnected from how we actually use AI. Modern agentic tools use around 600 times more energy per prompt, as I discuss in my latest over at The Climate Brink www.theclimatebrink....

The phrase "military age men" is designed to be inflammatory and ignores reality. Yes, majority of people making long, dangerous, and often expensive routes to seek asylum are younger men who have the ability to work and earn money to bring over more vulnerable people, mainly women and children. 1/

Some of these replies… The whole colonial period thing is about a genocide that killed 5 to 10 million people. I’ve always found it inappropriate to use that history for some gentle ribbing in the context of a fucking sports match.

I don’t understand oil prices very well, but surely supply has been well interrupted for months now and Brent oil never really got over 80$ a barrel. Were analyst just wrong about demand elasticity?

I feel like there's a growing gap in perception between people who use LLMs to code or do code-adjacent things and people who only evaluate LLMs on their ability to write prose.

This might be a stretched analogy but it reminds me of the different "worlds" of the polarized US media environment.
