I think it was physics, but only because I don’t believe in a god. But if I did, then, “HELL, YEAH, BRO, talking to you!”
Or “you are angering me.” Or “I hate this glass.”

It was a cool time for cool people to drag other cool people here.

They’re adding public restrooms back to NYC, thank you Mayor Mamdani
This monstrosity, the Charlie Kirk Monument, is set to be unveiled in New York’s Times Square on September 10. It was handcrafted by Italian sculptor Sergio Furnari. I give it 20 minutes.

In the spirit of July 4th, I watched Casablanca. My favorite movie, although I haven’t seen it in a decade, at least. And what a decade it’s been. This time it all hits different—yet feels contemporarily familiar. Tears from my grieving gut when the crowd sings “La Marseillaise.”

In my experience dealing with management over our union contract and subsequent enforcement, lots of those upstream are scaredy cats who whither under the slightest “pain points.” Ya know, like living wages and transparency. Yes, even non-profits whose mission includes “people over profits.”
we asked for better 401k matching, better parental leave, and that our publisher not be a complete idiot. That's it! That's what scared this little boy into pooping in the sandbox.

Today at the BK drive through, I apologized for ordering randomly, saying I did it “backwards.” At the window, the employee said something like “ordering backwards is appropriate for pride month.” I asked him to explain, given its ambiguity. He said, “you know, they take it in the back.”
My husband and I sat at the bar at a restaurant today and the lady who was bartending asked, "You fellas decide to leave the wifies at home today?"

Yup, just the husbands today, ma'am.

Wow. A law that benefits the consumer, and not the corporation. Amazing. You do have the power of your wallet. Cut. The. Cord.

Ok, that did not go how I thought it would. What a story! That it’s based off a memorable (and problematic, as they say) movie scene my demo missed doesn’t matter, because there are cringey movie moments from every era that kinda beg for resolution. This has that.

I thought I’d look for half a sec, like you do, but I got sucked in. Sooooo many seconds went by before I absorbed it, and then many more before I was satisfied, then several after that just lingering. 10/10.
I’m just going to stare at this all night...

For consumer safety updates and deep dives into waste management, read this thread for a reason to trust @neorsd.org and @cpsc.gov here on the Blueskies.
Well, very few people *dislike* waste management. Oh sure, they'll complain if it's going the wrong direction, but that's waste *mis*-management.

For four days, almost all my thoughts are with my next door neighbor, who’s dying. Hospice parks on the street during the day. Family parks in the driveway. Tonight the driveway is full and blocked by other cars. The house is dark. I ache for my neighbors.

Oh, well, as long as he’s still having fun, it’s fine. The rules are that you get to hold onto power, never share it, until you don’t feel like it anymore. It’s worked out great.
Jim Risch, R-ID is running for re-election & will be 83 on Election Day & would be 89 years old at the end of that term. But he said he’s still enjoying the job, and his powerful position as chairman has put him at the center of the debate over Venezuela, Greenland and other global flash points
24 members of Congress are 80 or older. More than half are running for re-election.
While older members of leadership in the House and the Senate are retiring, some from the Silent Generation say their seniority is still a boon for their districts.

Imma join the FBI, mom.
I guess you don’t need a fancy college degree for going after political enemies
The FBI just scrapped its decades-old bachelor’s degree requirement for recruits—and slashed academy training from 18 weeks to 8. What could go wrong?
