Talks about Power BI and data visualisation even when you ask him to please stop.
Not enough people are talking about the rise of shit cartoons posted on social media. People who overuse AI are seemingly deeply unfunny.

Fully grown adults not understanding the difference between Socialism and National Socialism is actually shocking, given that they could overcome their ignorance within five minutes through a search and some reading.

I managed to get in a midweek paddle on Wednesday and enjoyed a nice relaxing sunset in the kayak.

The smoothed-brain bosses at newsrooms continue to make the dumbest calls by killing off some of the best talents they possess. Axios are the latest.

Sad for all those in the team affected, hopefully they are snapped up by better employers very soon.
Some sad news: Axios has eliminated their #dataviz team, which means I have a few former colleagues who are going to be looking for work.

@daniellealberti.bsky.social was one of the best managers I’ve ever had and her eye for hiring the right people to round out a team is second to none.

Yesterday I learned that Axios was eliminating the data visualization team I’ve built and led for nearly seven years. So, for the first time in a long time, I’m looking for what's next. I’m so proud...

I'm so sick and tired of seeing YouTube thumbnails with exaggerated facial expressions and hand gestures. You're talking about tech, I KNOW you're not literally jaw-dropping over a new toggle button or whatever. Yeah, algorithms and clicks, I know. I'm just too old for this shit 😑

I'm the Engineering Manager for the team that builds the Metrics App. I'll do my best to reply to the comments and route feedback to the appropriate teams.

We definitely don't hate you guys.

Did the person who built the Fabric Capacity Metrics report actively hate data visualisation, and was the result an intentional hate crime against people who care about user friendly report design?

📊 My and @jhilden.bsky.social’s book has been out of print for some time, as our publisher closed down its general publishing arm. We are working on a 2nd edition, but it is not going to be ready anytime soon, so we’re making the current edition available as an e-book for €9.90.

I'm genuinely tempted to do this.
I might start doing 'how to create fabric apps' videos.
It's just me writing a prompt then clicking allow 10 times.
