This is worse than a crime, it’s a mistake. Trump/Witkoff/Kushner still think this war is about a piece of territory. Putin would simply pocket the territorial gain & move on to using the negotiations to push his ultimate aim of controlling Ukraine.

As someone who really wants AI companies to be limited in the damage they're doing to the world, it's incredibly frustrating when the most vocal contingent of AI skeptics keep repeating the idea that AI doesn't work at all.
Maybe that was the case 3 years ago but not any longer.

I’m beginning to suspect that wasting years dragging feet on military aid to Ukraine and playing escalation management games, giving an aggressive militaristic Russia the time and resources to ramp up its war machine to full power against the free world, might not have been the brightest idea.

True. But this theater is getting tiresome, and I am not sure it's working for Europe. Perhaps it's time to make it clear to Trump that there are no negotiations instead of leading him to think that there are—and in the process fooling a lot of Europeans into believing that peace is close.
What folks need to realize about "peace talks" is that this is all theater for Washington. Ukraine knows that Russia has no intention of stopping the war, and the Russians know the Ukrainians know that. So this is just all a performance for Trump, hoping he blames the other for the lack of peace.
