It strikes me as the most obvious slam dunk for gov'ts to look at youth unemployment and the need for care workers and consider, "Hey, maybe we just need to dump money into these sectors and train kids to work good jobs." But maybe I'm just an idiot, I dunno.
For @futureofgood.bsky.social I dug into a new report from United Way Centraide Canada that combines over a dozen datasets on the care economy workforce, showing sky-high levels of job vacancies and low wages.

The report is the first step in creating a labour force strategy for the sector.
A new report from @United Way Centraide Canada gathers data from several sources, including Future of Good’s Changemaker Wellbeing Index, to snapshot how workers in Canada’s Care Economy are faring. Spoiler alert: It’s not great.

I don't know if I'm right about many things, but I knew I would be proven right that this dude was going to try to be 21st century JAM without any care/understanding of the racist, colonial damage he did.
Disturbing, offensive, but perhaps fitting that Carney is seeking (much like far-right groups!) to rehab Sir John A’s reputation into that of a Great Uniter, rather than someone who engaged in horrific crimes against Indigenous people and Chinese immigrants (in part to build this project!)

I remember it said that the gov't of Ontario and the federal gov't haven't had the same ruling party in over 100 years, but what exactly is the difference between Mark Carney and Doug Ford outside of tone and background?

This pieces makes an important point that I see reflected every day on my rides: no one wears helmets anymore! It blows my mind. Seems like it'd be a slam dunk to have a free/low-cost helmet rental system through school districts. It would save lives.

This mammoth figure exceeds the entire carbon footprint of most countries, including the UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia and Australia.” @euronews.com
