An American president is encouraging an enemy to destroy American cities. This is treason, though he will claim we are not at war.
Trump suggested tonight that Iran could "take out" American cities:

"It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take— let it, let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

Saying he'd be cool with Iran nuking my home city is pretty bad but not quite as bad as when Hillary said some trump supporters were deplorable so I can see why the media turned the latter into a major scandal and not the former
BREAKING: In Nebraska rally, Trump just suggested he would be unbothered to see Iran "take out" LA or San Diego:

“They could take out a city,” he said. “Let them take—Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. That’s—this is a very small price to pay."

Just a reminder: Tillis persuaded the woman Hegseth allegedly raped to come forward with her story, and told her that if she did, it would sink the nomination.

She did. At great risk to herself. Tillis then cast the deciding vote for Hegseth.

Because he’s a goddamned coward.

Trump’s insider trading is, on its own, the worst corruption scandal in US history, with $$$ dwarfing Teapot Dome.

So are Trump’s bribes-for-pardons.

So is the Qatar bribe plane.

So is all the Saudi money he (and Kushner) have pocketed.

And the ballroom.

And more. Each alone would be the worst.
Again, you can always detect some faint embarrassment from Democrats when they talk about the ballroom, but “the president demolished a big part of the White House to build himself a palace with bribes from enemy powers” is, by an order of magnitude, the worst corruption scandal in US history

I don’t think everyone realizes how bad things are for US science:

For the fiscal year that just ended, the Trump regime withheld $1.4 billion from the National Science Foundation’s research budget, which is about 1/5 of its primary research budget.

The move, affecting about one-fifth of the National Science Foundation’s primary research budget, is the latest sign of how the White House is asserting more control over grants.

(Which made GWB first prez in 112 yrs to 'win' after losing popular vote. Now they 'impartially' rule on our future.)
Let me see if I've got this right. The team of lawyers who stole an election in Florida, and gave W the presidency, are now the Scotus team at the center of the GOP theft of our democracy.

That's where I've been for a while. We can't even reach questions about the death penalty itself because we fail essential predicates such as "fair and consistent criminal justice system" and "reliable death penalty verdicts that leave no reasonable doubt" and, as shown tonight, "humane execution."
there are moral arguments against the death penalty in its ideal form but in real life you never need to get there. the prior question is "can the state be trusted to end the life only of the rightly convicted without torture?" and the answer is no

The Bible actually does have something to say about this:

Exodus 20:16: "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
JD Vance: "Think about this. If your 6-year-son comes home one day and says he's a girl, Talafreako says, and I quote, it is abusive -- abusive! -- if you don't let school officials but him on hormones and change his pronouns. Nothing in the Bible supports any of this, of course."
