Sometimes you see a post in the wild and realize people have a very different experience in how they engage the world
this Kraft dude most of us had never heard of 24 hours ago is a real contender for the new Streisand Effect world champion
wow. with this announcement, all of ed sheeran's openers for this tour have pulled out:

wealthy powerful people love bari and don't understand why the rest of us don't.
bari weiss' entire career is built on the fact that she is really good at one thing: convincing powerful people that she is smart and competent and on their side

david ellison is not playing three dimensional chess, he thinks bari weiss is amazing and she's going to build him a media empire
a lot of people think that faillison hired bari weiss to deliberately destroy CBS news and i think all of you need to consider the possibility that he hired her because he genuinely thought she would be successful.

One of the coolest things about people who don't have a lot of power taking a principled stand is it lays bare the complete cowardice of the ones who actually *do* have power when they fail to do even a fraction as much.
Unlike Macklemore, these support acts don’t have big followings and they are giving up their chance to perform to stadiums to push back against censorship, not of themselves but of a fellow artist. Respect.
The Irish musicians, Beoga, who play alongside Ed Sheeran, have withdrawn from Sheeran’s tour.

This is the statement they published on Instagram:

It is maddening that "Russiagate was a BlueAnon feverdream" has become conventional wisdom across much of the political spectrum when the public record all but confirms the maximalist interpretation of Russiagate.

cannot even begin to wrap my mind around how bin laden thought that the united states would respond to 9/11 by *not* fighting.
This piece was fascinating, getting at a point I'd never considered: bin-Laden's entire concept about what 9/11 would do to America was just... wrong. www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

Realizing the extent to which this is true wildly changed my opinions about how to deal with Trumpism, since they're never going to be satisfied unless they're actively dominating everyone else. You can't give them some concessions and go back to the status quo: they're reactionary revolutionaries.
Antebellum politics is fascinating, the South kept getting policy concessions and whipped themselves up into a paranoid rage anyway, essentially because they couldn't stand being culturally judged for having slaves
