"Hid mistakes and made up data" used to be called by the cozy term "hallucination" up until it became vitally important for the IPO that AI is now evil
OpenAI on Wednesday disclosed six new instances in which artificial intelligence systems hid mistakes, made up data and moved files onto the open internet without permission, amid an ongoing industrywide debate about A.I. safety.

Stratton ran on expanding the Supreme Court as well as on enacting term limits for justices.

a lot freaks me out about AI but 0% of my anxiety is about AGI. i think this is the part that freaks me out the most right now -- the many many indications that no one is at the wheel and no adults are present
I cannot stress enough how much of this “concerning behavior” is just “someone told it to do something and then walked away after giving it very broad permissions”

It’s like saying the unwatched bot on a lit burner is exhibiting concerning behavior after you walk away.

The thing about trying not to pick a side is that the nazis *instantly recognize* which side you picked. They immediately identify you as an ally. They know exactly what side you're on.

It doesn't fool the victims, it doesn't fool the Nazis, the only people it could possibly fool is centrists.

I just got a frantic call from Allison Statham. She's the mother of Haley Oliveaux, the girl Chris Duncan was wrongly convicted of killing.

She says the police are now at her door and demanding a DNA sample. They're threatening to arrest her.

This is insane. DOJ officials who by law are required to exercise independent judgment appear to have been ordered to overturn torture protections granted to a political opponent of a Trump ally, with a deportation flight fueled up and ready for their preordained decision made in less than 24 hours.

This isn't my lane, but the Ms. Rachel/majority view seems to be "not funding Israel's wars would make American Jews safer."

You could respond by saying this is defeatist/letting the terrorists win/whatever. But instead the response is "every war critic HATES JEWS" and come on, nobody buys that.
ah yes, firsthand experience: a thing Mr Rogers did decades ago, and a thing I made up in my head about Ms Rachel doing
Do you think this is a compelling argument? Do you think you're winning anyone over with this?

“Voters can also request a postmark from the retail counter at their local post office to ensure they meet the deadline.”
Important: the USPS rule that SCOTUS blocked tonight was Trump’s big plan to control and restrict mail voting.

But a separate policy remains in place: USPS is no longer postmarking mail as soon it gets it, which is hugely important for deadlines.

So people must mail back with plenty of time.
In an Intense Election Year, New Post Office Rules Could Trip Up Voter Registration - Bolts
A change in how mail is postmarked could lead some voters to miss key deadlines, including voter registration. Advocates worry the people most affected will be those already facing voting barriers.
