I think it is time to stop treating wildness as something to soften for human consumption. And learn to look from the eyes of their native plants and animals, what would they value? for true #ecology action

Furthermore, many of those benefits can be obtained indirectly, such as listening to the sound of birds or rainfall, or photos of calm wildlife or landscapes. But appreciating nature this way is weak at developing a commitment to protect it.

I think part of the problem is how Stress Reduction Theory and Attention Restoration Theory are taught as mechanisms to connect with nature, but they greatly focus on the benefits to humans, from a nature perceived as safe, organized, clean. And #Nature is not always like that.

In the interest of accurate #ScienceCommunication and education, how can we better communicate these differences? Do we need more specific categories when discussing microplastics #pollution and potential impacts on biota?

Plastic pellets (nurdles) found in coastal sediments can harm exposed #wildlife, but not in the same way as small size micro- and nanoplastics that can be taken up into tissues.
