it's funny but also a reminder that the fundamental premise here is that a Black man can't be objective when talking about race while a white man can because Black people do identity politics and white people do facts and this my friends is what I have named "white empiricism"

I always get sucked into Yudkowsky Discourse bc I desperately believe I'll come across the post or article that admits its all an Andy Kaufman caliber bit of performance art but also know that it's all actually real and that's a real solid blow to my belief that the world is at least vague rational.

I spent the summer of 2009 in the tropical dry forest of Costa Rica with Dr. Janzen.
I learned so much from Dan, including that I didn't want to be an ecologist.

They disinvented the VCR. You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. They had it in for the VCR from the very start, and they never stopped trying to kill it. Eventually, they succeeded.
