The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

The plagiarism machine I created will likely kill us all, there’s a 40% chance, no, higher, like 75%,or more!

But NO I will not “unplug it,” that’s an insane suggestion. The scientific solution is to *give me more money.*

Now a fan of Golden State.
Golden State Valkyries forward Gabby Williams: “There’s a lot of discourse around trans athletes and what they can compete in. I would welcome a trans athlete on my team or against my team. Anytime. I don’t think it’s a problem in the world, it’s just another way to kind of attack trans people.”

Would they have passed the Béchamel test?

Also, this is why the Paramount/Skydance/Warner Bros. Discovery merger is so terrifying to us all. Fewer competitors means fewer movies and shows competing in the market. Less choice, fewer jobs making those choices. It's lose/lose for creatives and audiences both.

So when you read articles or see news pieces on how bad Hollywood is doing, it's not that people are consuming less—it's that Hollywood is making less and narrowing you all into watching the other stuff we're making. The saddest part is this impacts marginalized and young creatives first.

Everyone knows Hollywood is fucked, but most people don't actually know why. The studios used the strikes as cover to cancel a full 1/3rd of TV production across the board. 1/3 of TV cast & crew are out of work. Fully. There just aren't jobs for them. Many are people who made your favorite shows.

I have bought a lot of Moleskine notebooks in the past but can VERY easily avoid giving them any more money in the future.

Huge mistake for a low level luxury brand like this imo. Incredibly easy to walk away.
I have considered Moleskine to be outrageously overpriced for quite some time but using AI to generate a sketchbook cover betrays a level of hubris that is wild even for them.

Those high prices and they couldn't be bothered to pay a human?

Dump 'em.

Dearest Kobo users, do you know if the time estimates get much better with use?

I'm breaking in a new Kobo ereader. Even though I've spent 17 hours on this book and am at 54% (yes I'm slow and also easily distracted), it confidently states I have 3 more hours to go.

Like, sure, but also no.

Shadowrun has more believable worldbuilding than we do.
In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."

Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Tonight at midnight The Great Moose Migration starts, five days early. Several weeks of livestreaming from the north of Sweden, where the moose trek through forest and over a river to their summer grazing.
