Sometimes you see a post in the wild and realize people have a very different experience in how they engage the world

It would be lovely if tech people would stop supporting and/or downplaying racist pieces of shit. I do have a @1password.bsky.social subscription and have been very happy with it, but this sort of thing will be on my mind when it's time to re-up the subscription.
1Password faced immediate backlash from customers this week over a $300,000 pledge in support of a Linux distro created by David Heinemeier Hansson, who has regularly published overtly racist blog posts that include comments calling for deportation of ethnic minorities in Europe.
1Password wades into a right-wing mess after funding a Linux project
The controversy surrounds David Heinemeier Hansson, who has posted strident anti-vax and anti-immigrant views.

Caught my kid doing the unthinkable today, watching 2.35:1 content zoomed to fit on an iPad screen. Where did I go wrong?

What follows is the funniest use of the slo-mo alternate angle tech I've seen them use during these Olympics of one of the crew members falling

will also add - yes, this is my personal crusade - that turning podcasts into videos implicitly asks women to once again make more effort than men, as the bar for "camera-ready" for one gender is obviously higher than for the other

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place

I recently saw an amazing Navajo rug at the National Gallery of Art. It looks abstract at first, but it is a detailed representation of the Intel Pentium processor. Called "Replica of a Chip", it was created in 1994 by Marilou Schultz, a Navajo/Diné weaver and math teacher. 1/n

@reckless.bsky.social Really happy with my iMac conversions. Still hoping for someone to make a board to let me use one of the built in webcams over usb. Only real issue was the color balance on the Haijing Cool driver boards, they need proper calibration with a meter.
