The man ICE shot in Austin today is named Wilber Rafael Garces Perez. Per his lawyer, she and Perez’s family were run off of hospital property where he’s being treated and won’t even confirm he’s there because he’s “in ICE custody.” Actual criminals.

i always like to point out that in the middle of world war 2, when the fate of the entire world was literally hanging by a thread, people laughed. they laughed a lot. they made jokes about the conflict itself. people need levity. it is a core part of humanity.
I understand that everything is really fucked up, but I implore you to stop telling people not to make jokes about it. We are hanging on by a thread and some of us have no other means of coping.
