Tor, et al CAN do a quick turnaround when they have to but generally speaking having a schedule with a longer lead time has advantages. Particularly with marketing: feature stories and media appearances often have to be planned months in advance. Most authors will benefit from extra planning.
There was a run when Tor was chomping at the bit to get some books out (Sanderson doing the Wheel of Time, maybe) and I was paying enough attention to notice how short the lead times were. It was disappointing to realize they weren’t typical

Today I learned that #JamesWatson supported #postbirthabortion. Not like when republicans say post-birth abortion. He literally proposed that infants not be considered alive until 3 days so the parents would have time to abort if a birth defect was found.

Probably VHD, or Akira, I'm pretty sure i was watching those before Sailor Moon and definitely remember watching Dragonball (OG) before moon. Actually that kinda makes it first now that I process my age. I remember waking up and seeing Dragonball on SatMornCartoons. Thought it was a dream for YEARS
