Wait. Not only is a “mega” corporate tax break a dubious plan, but this is poison to Carney’s plan to move closer to the EU, who won’t like European businesses exiting for lower taxes.

My money is on a sea change. I think Canada’s up for it. Test is whether Brussels can see and shape the horizons of what is possible, without getting mired down in the legal minutiae - esp of Article 217.

This is the ball of wax… if Canada and EU can forge a new, profoundly deeper relationship it may offer a model to tie like minded states together with heightened prosperity and security for all.

This should really piss us off. Mark Carney told the money class at his summit in Toronto he was going to asset flip our airports before telling Canadians. He short-circuited discussion and input from Canadians in his race to enrich the investor class.

The current criteria requires a country to be "European", so that's a non-starter unless you try and claim they're European because of St Pierre et Miquelon or something like that. The other criteria are basically a sinch.
