By noon, 27.9 percent of eligible Berlin voters had cast ballots in the Abgeordnetenhaus election, exceeding 2023 midday turnout, officials reported.

Well in Berlin it was the far left party that surged but that doesn't sound so exciting I guess. The far left party promised to actually act on the housing referendum that's passed twice but got ignored by the centre right government (led by Merz' CDU), so in like flint.

My hometown Berlin seems to be doing allright in today's election: Left party: around 25%, Greens: 15%, Social Democrats: 12%, with hard-right AFD at 14%
