I also tried bronze clay for the first time to make some Dark Crystal symbols for my upcoming piece. I made quite a few in case there were any catastrophic failures, since they all came out, I will make the extras into pedants!

I made this silver oak leaf a while ago now as a commission for someone with a January birthday. Being winter I had to use a slightly rehydrated dry oak leaf for the process - thank goodness it worked as well as a fresh leaf

New pendant. I'm not sure how secure the wirework is (although the stone's also glued in place), but I like the piece. I'll sell it -- I hope -- at a small craft fair in April.

I decided to revisit a #knotwork inspired #dragonfly #pendant that I did a while back - and update it to work with glass cabochons. I can only get glass in certain sizes, so I had to change things a bit - but I like it. Done in #blender, will be made in #metalclay, features #art I created.

A bronze leaf from a real leaf on my farm in SC :). I made a thin paste out of Bronze Metal Clay, and painted multiple layers until it got as thick as I wanted. Then I fired it in my kiln - this burns off the organic binders leaving solid Bronze :) #handmadejewelry #metalclay #metalsmith

To our wonderful customers and friends, I'm writing this with a heart full of mixed emotions to share some news that is quite difficult to put into words. After 22 incredible years, Stuart and I have decided that it is time for us to step back and close the doors of our business. This decision did not come easily. It has been incredibly emotional, but lately, life has brought us to a bit of a crossroads. As some of you know, I lost my father at the beginning of the year. That loss, combined with our own health concerns, the volatility we saw in the silver market in January, and a looming deadline of a building lease renewal, forced us to stop, take a minute, breathe, and reflect. We realised - to our own surprise - that it was time for a change. Running a business this busy is an honour and joy, and a true passion, but it takes a lot of energy and doesn't leave room for what matters most right now: spending matters most right now: spending precious time with each other, our tamily, and looking after our health. When is this happening? We have always done things a bit different and that is also how we will retire! Because our building lease is coming to an end, our timeline is shorter than we might've ideally chosen. The metalclay.co.uk and houseofresin.co.uk websites will officially close at 9am on Monday 29th June. What does this mean for you? While this chapter is ending for us, I don't want you to worry about losing access to the products you (and I) love.
