As a result of discussions during the #3Dslicer "train the trainers" workshop, a new module has been added that allows you to volume render segmentations, giving you the power to produce higher quality renderings of segmented structures. Find the new Colorize Volume module in the Sandbox extension.

1/2 If there is interest and desire to learn the program 3dSlicer, especially from high school students and undergraduates, dm me. I putting together a class in summer for that cohort. That course will be in person, BUT this material also works well on-line via Zoom.

The tutorials, using 3DSlicer, are very good. The program is easy to use and runs on many platforms with minimal resources. Be aware that the files themselves can be quite large, easily over 1 Gb.

Pro tip from an amateur, don't try to display the 3D volume reconstruction in 3DSlicer, the files are very large single tiffs (Can't use image stacks!) and the machine will lag. Just display the segmentation in 3D. The tutorials are really good. A great companion site:
