#AccesstoWork
There was no explanation for the cut & significant problems with what was awarded make it unworkable, including #AccessToWork proposing a rate of pay for my support worker effectively below minimum wage. Our team will keep working & many #Touretteshero projects will continue 2/4

My initial shock's turned to grave concern for the disabled communities I’m part of. The leaked changes to #AccessToWork if implemented will have a devastating impact. Whatever happens for me personally, there’s a deeper issue at root, a fundamental failure to value our lives 3/4

This is the reality of what #AccessToWork cuts mean - Jess, who works and runs a company employing other people, can't do her job any more:
I’m profoundly sad to say that as of today, I’ll no longer be able to do my job as co-artistic director of #Touretteshero because of a recent decision by #AccessToWork to cut my support by 61%. Read & share this post, the hardest I've had to write: www.touretteshero.com/2025/05/23/a... 1/4

Labour want disabled people to work, yet, are taking the axe to access to work meaning disabled people are unable to continue in work because of cuts

Disabled people warn of brutal 'secret' cuts to DWP work grants
DWP whistleblowers have reported Access to Work funding has been slashed by 60% to 70%, leaving disabled people struggling to stay in work.

When it works properly & I can remember a time when it did #AccessToWork is liberating & transformative. I want to make it absolutely clear that disabled people are here to stay, that our lives, experiences, skills and imaginations matter & we are not disposable. 2/2

any #journalists working in the #adhd space fancy doing an investigation into why #ADHDcoaching can cost above £120 per session, when #counselling would cost on average £55 ...? Wondering if it might have something to do with funding often coming from #accesstowork ?

Access to Work is meant to support disabled people getting into work and to thrive in the workplace.

But I’m hearing from residents facing sudden cuts and long delays, often putting their jobs and livelihoods at risk.

With the cut to my #AccessToWork support meaning I can’t do my job & impacting creative projects, it’s been a while since I felt excited & moved by theatre but experiencing the #RelaxedPerformance of #MatildaMusical with my niece this afternoon was the reminder I needed.

Devastating.
@rachelblakemp.bsky.social — this is exactly what I feared when we spoke about #AccessToWork cuts. You said you’d write to minister Stephen Timms. Please do. Disabled people deserve answers: how can slashing support be justified when the government claims it wants to help us into work?

The fact this is a decision by #AccessToWork is shocking #Touretteshero artistic work gave many opportunities to other disabled artists, my son included. I am saddened and angered to read this.

This is the environment in which the government is pushing the narrative that disabled people just don't want to work whilst simultaneously cutting PIP + Access to work support.

When a leading artist, employer, trailblazer, activist with unquestionable complex support needs has to halt work bc #AccessToWork has been cut, it sadly looks like Labour Isn’t Working. Wonder if @bambosmp.bsky.social @francesryan.bsky.social @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social can make some noise?
