#Acessibility
Cop-like enforcement of norms is always some bullshit, even if we agree with the norms. And there is a myth of acessibility, as if there were a Platonic Accessible Design to work towards rather than irreconcilable tensions even within accomodating different disabilities.

remedy adding one hit kills and immortality as acessibility options to control resonance is so fantastic

IMO the big thing that makes modern Minecraft so enjoyable is the enourmous amount of acessibility options the game has, its kinda amusing how people can say older versions are better when they only have like, 10 options instead of 200

To anyone experienced with ALT text, please look at some of my posts and tell me if the ALT is helpful and/or how I can improve it

Stuff you can in part turn off, good point to bring up the fact the options exist too and show other factors that are positive to modern gaming at least like acessibility, with options for people with color blindness, issues with earing or vision and even disabilities, but i guess only fart matters

Just read a game journo complainin about the new Onimusha lacking ''acessibility features'' in the game.

it's very odd trying to explain acessibility to people because people automatically assume it only means ramps, hand-rails, etc.. when in reality there are many subtle unacessible things in a day to day life, like uneven sidewalks, tight-screwed bottles, low seats, etc

Please don't include links in alt-text. 🫤
Poor screen reader experience: If you paste a raw URL into alt text, screen readers will awkwardly spell out every character, slash, and punctuation mark (e.g., "h-t-t-p-s colon slash slash...") without giving users a way to click it.

Some acessibility to those 'hallowed' halls of whiteness and even a whiff of proximity is intoxicating to some folks.

I'll leave it at that becsuse the north remembers " black sky. . .i dont know her."

dark mode gives me horrible visual aftereffects and it ticks me off that GitHub has no toggle on its blog so I have to put my whole damn browser into acessibility reading mode not to get 20 minutes of yellow bars from reading their announcements

I had this same thought when talking about conventions. Why should acessibility be treated like an afterthought when accessibility literally benefits EVERYONE.

ah, i remembered to do this!

The value of a printed work is not simply its contents. It is its acessibility by hand. Copying and sharing a work in one medium does not decrease the value of another.

The light of a candle does not diminish the light of another candle.

When that light is extinguished are we deeper in the dark.

So we have Right Wing fuckwits trying to get on the board of directors for New Zealand's Biggest Internet Non-profit, who awards community grants, campaigns for internet safety and acessibility, and *controls the .nz TLD*. Having these people on the board would be a nightmare for Kiwis online.
The far-right's targeting of InternetNZ is a timely, clear signal that they have already animated their networks, and agitated their supporters to vote. So should you. #nzpol

The way how some ppl are reacting to some of the upcoming OPTIONAL stuff in character creator and acessibility tools is why I dont fuck as much with a part of the socmed side of the ffxiv community anymore lmao

This is a feature that I won't be using and I hope it comes disabled by default and has to be enabled manually.

That being said, It is also a really important and needed acessibility feature and I'm glad it's finally available for those who need it.
Up until now, they've avoided a system that allowed players to automatically travel from quest giver to quest destination. However, newer games have implemented such features. If this feature helps certain players, they want to proceed. Auto-movement will be an optional feature.

oh hey, you need to put alt text on that for acessibility (it will also make the images searchable)

Weird related tangent, Consoles used to be pop the game in and Go. PC was jump through hoops and hope the game works.

That’s sort of eroded too, console games got more installing and set up (with acessibility set up being scarce)

On the topic of accessibility, I run my shop on fourthwall. Unfortunately they don't have almost anything in the way of acessibility including alt text. I ask if you've shopped with me to also request this feature! please be respectful, I don't support nasty behavior. Please repost to spread word!

Something to do with FIFA's rules on acessibility, there's always one "light" kit (apparently yellow here) and one "dark" kit (looks like red isn't "dark" enough), to make it easier for people with colorblindness. At least that's what I've heard. It's like back in the days of black and white TV!
