I'm currently trying to save money to take some time off (freelancing = no holiday pay) because living with multiple chronic illnesses with gallstones on top has worn me down to the point of daily breakdowns, amongst other things.

I need a break! 😩

any support is appreciated 💜

💜 Hi! I'm starting fresh with Spoonie Survival Club.

I'm here to meet people who understand life with migraine, mental health issues, or any chronic illness. The hard days, the little wins, and everything in between.

If you're a spoonie, let's connect. 💜

If your doctor ever tells you it's all in your head, find a new doctor. Your symptoms matter. Your experience matters. Keep advocating for yourself.

Reminder: rest is not giving up. Rest is how your body heals. You don't have to earn the right to take care of yourself.

Aw thanks spoonie. I ended up working out to get myself out of my head and it’s definitely helped!

Being an empowered patient means collaborating with the attending to knock a resident off their high horse. #chronicillness #spoonie #pwME #pots

The way I deal with paint-making equipment maintenance has changed over time because disability adaptation.

So I'll quote this post into another thread on that for any other spoonie paint-makers (niche, I know.)

Suffice to say, I mostly hate regritting especially cos it's hard work and very loud…

Learning to say no was one of the hardest things chronic illness taught me. But it was also one of the most freeing. Protecting your energy isn't selfish, it's survival.

Some days the hardest part is explaining to people why you look fine but feel terrible. You're not making it up. Your symptoms are real, your fatigue is real, and you deserve support.
