A late one this week, but I am just back from Bloody Scotland and, to be honest, had no energy to get this written up last night. So here we are. I'm sure you have all been waiting with baited breath (or not) to see what I had to share this week, but bear with me. It may take some time ...

Well, I don't mind admitting that last week feels like it was more like last fortnight. But I survived. MIght not have done a lot - and that includes not having achieved a lot reading wise. But what I lacked in volume (or page count) I made up for with enjoyment, and I can't be unhappy with that. Managed a nice long walk on Sunday, caught up on my reviews, and am rounding the final corner of my June review reading list.

Today I share my thoughts on the fifth and final book in the Raven and Fisher Mystery series by Ambrose Parry, The Death Of Shame. Sad times, but still a heartfelt thank you to publisher, Canongate, for indulging my reading pleasure one last time. Here's what the book is about: Source: NetgalleyRelease Date: 05 June 2025

Oh my word. What a week. So much fun. I mentioned last week that Mandie and I had a cheeky overnighter in Southampton. What I didn't mention, was that it was swiftly followed by a week cruising the Norwegian Fjords. (Got to think about the home insurance and all that). It is (was) a bit of a bucket list trip for me.

Well, that's it then. March officially ends today, the clocks have jumped forward an hour, spring has (allegedly) sprung, and Q2 starts tomorrow. Who'd a thunk it, right? This year is passing all too quickly, but that is no bad thing. I was on training all of last week, staying down in Weymouth. It's a long old drive from where I live, but it was nice being back by the coast.

And here we are at the start of another week. The last full week in March. On the countdown to the clock changing again, and, better new for me, a succession of short working weeks. Training most of this week, but I'm off Friday afternoon and then not back in the office until Tuesday. Bargain. In fact, for one reason or another (plus all the Bank Holidays over April and May) I don't think I work another full week for about seven weeks.

First, the official blurb: Apprentice Sarah Fisher is helping to fund Dr Will Raven’s emerging medical practice in exchange for being secretly trained as a medic, should the rules barring women ever change.
