This article was one of those case studies I couldn’t quit when researching the history of N. American wapiti (elk). 🦌 It started by asking: what happened to the 20 wapiti “gifted” to New Zealand by Theodore Roosevelt?

The sturgeon is Britain's biggest native fish. It's extinct in our rivers today, but once upon a time it was a regular visitor, possibly returning here to breed.

Here's a thread with some of the wild stories which were told when it was still found here. #envhist #animalhist 🧵🐟

I had never heard of Tom Lehrer (or at least don’t recall I had) so with all the posts about him, I decided to look up his work.

He has an AMAZING #envhist #animalhist song: Poisoning Pigeons in the Park

I received an interesting call for fables from the project 'Rethinking Fables in the Age of Global Environmental Crisis'.

Call is attached. The general website for the project is
research.kent.ac.uk/rethinking-f... but I don't think the call itself is on there.
