Two points here.
1. Automation can be great, but this administration is making it harder for states to use automation to expand coverage.
2. Automation to detect fraud has a really bad track record in practice.

“Move towards automation” should raise eyebrows

Also: they want you to think “34 Million able-bodied on Medicaid” means people are LAZY, when what it really means is people are UNDERPAID.

The oligarchy thinks we are all idiots. They are stealing from you and laughing at you.

Automation and AI are freeing us from mundane, tiresome tasks like making sure you’re not advertising your products with quotes from David Irving
My sister does calligraphy so is big into fountain pens, and she sent me this.

Looks like this company used an agency that lazily automated quotes from British authors — one of whom happened to be a Holocaust denier.

Keep this in mind as we start seeing more and more large scale outages from AWS, Cloudflare, Github, etc. These are the companies hoping to increasingly automate their systems with AI

Infuriating Washington Post article on the long term proposal to remove train operators from the DC subway, as is best practice in Europe. If you didn't understand transit, you'd wonder what the point of automation is.

The point of automation is frequency!
DC, Maryland and Virginia agree to funding to fully automate @wmata.com — new signals, trains, and platform doors — over next two decades.

In the purest sense, we are.

Ludd's ideology was about being worried about automation taking away work from people. Not about "technology bad" in itself.

LLMs were created with no sense of ethics and thrown out with no sense of ethics, and HUGE SHOCKER, probably the most lucrative way to use it is literal automation of scams to get money from people by scaring and/or lying to them.

"THE PEOPLE DO NOT YEARN FOR AUTOMATION" is probably a very easy thing to say when you live divorced from the reality of how automation in farming, manufacturing, and a multitude of other things have made your entire lifestyle possible
Factorio has sold over 8 million copies.

The people yearn for automation so hard they do it recreationally.

Why are solar panels and batteries from China so cheap?

High levels of automation, cheap energy, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes.

It's less about low salaries than many people think.
