@bikeshare.bsky.social looks like the station at 6th & K St. NE was hit by a car recently. One dock is obliterated, but the others and all bikes appear to be unscathed. Sorry to bear the bad news ☹️

Another example of the cost to society of private car ownership. This railroad signal has been saved by the guard rail, but will require thousands of dollars in repairs. Crashes like this are repeated hundreds of times per day, costing society millions of dollars.

Somehow a car wound up on the Metro tracks in the middle of I-66 just west of the Dunn Loring station. Orange Line trains are not operating between West Falls Church & Vienna. Metro says they’ll let us know when they have more information on how in the world this happened. #wmata
