There’s the security of the parking/storage and also the appropriateness: e-bikes are always heavier, and can also be bulkier, and therefore even more incompatible with certain bikerack types than a bike with fenders or a cargo rack or thick tires already is, awkward to move in confined spaces, etc.
New study suggests that a shortage of secure bike parking is limiting e-bike adoption.
Glad to see this issue getting attention. It's intuitive that people with quasi-secure bike storage might be OK risking a pedal bike, but not an e-bike that's more expensive.

#cycled to #Blackheath yest, not one #bikerack we could find anywhere in the village yet loads of #carparking, making the tarmac broiling hot. Why is it those who #drive ‘need’ to be close to shops/bars etc but we who #cycle don’t? @lewisham.gov.uk -climatemergency?
