The evangelicals have had billionaire funding for decades. They're not even an organic religious movement
Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Church was a smash hit among evangelical Christians in the 1990s.

It’s about how to build growing, vibrant churches. But it can also be read by socialists today to figure out how to grow our movement.

This is fun. The Critic Magazine - funded by some right wing billionaire, has teamed up with another criminally convicted right billionaire, to investigate Jason Arday (rather than their two writers prosecuted for sex offences).

It's probably better to think of Elon Musk as, first and foremost, a white nationalist billionaire who works to spread racism and elect Republicans and, secondly, as someone who likes to blow up rockets in his spare time.
This, though, this stuff Elon is fantastic at. He uses his carny scams to fund the GOP which he does better than anyone. Excellent at helping Republicans get elected. So good that he was allowed to do a Sieg Heil at the inauguration and it didn't matter. That is a talent.
NEW: The GOP is looking like a subsidiary of Elon Inc. following the latest election spend filings. @dell.bsky.social and @hugolowell.bsky.social have the story along with trackers that will allow you to examine his PAC’s spending in all the detail you like:

It’s bad enough that Gavin Newsom opposes California’s Prop 40.

But he also supports Prop 42, a billionaire-backed poison pill that would cancel out Prop 40 entirely and make it impossible to enact future wealth taxes.

It’s clear whose side he’s on. Remember this in 2028.

The existence of a billionaire by itself is inherently antisocial so I think pretty much anything a billionaire spends $2 billion on is going to be antisocial. But I don't think rockets are a particularly egregiously antisocial category of billionaire spending.
