I decided to try to do some early morning contacts during the SKCC Group Annual QSO Party. I setup my Buddipole Dipole for 20 meters and got a 1.15:1 SWR and made several contacts before 10:00 EDT (1400 UTC) as the temperature hit 90 degrees with a Heat Index of 100.

Gary that's nothing. The last Field Day I worked (2021) I carried my Buddipole and Flower Pot Jpole (2/70cm) to my Field day site about 5 miles from my QTH.

My longest QSO was from NYC to Albany, Australia (with Mike, the late VK6HD), -18,786km as the (very weary) crow flies. It was CW, likely 50w to an indoor Buddipole. It’s nearly as close as I can get to the antipodes and still be on dry land. Only the town of Bunbury is closer.
