Kennedy draws from misinformation playbook by touting an inhaled steroid to treat measles

Kennedy told reporters "There are many good ways to treat Measles," citing Vitamin A, budesonide (a steroid) and clarithromycin (an antibiotic).

This advice will kill children. We have a proven, effective vaccine

RFK Jr. asks CDC for new measles treatment guidance amid his unfounded claims
Kennedy claimed that drugs like budesonide and clarithromycin "have been shown very effective" for measles, but doctors say they don't fight the infection itself.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. attended the funeral of an 8-year-old who last week became only the second confirmed death from the disease in a decade. Known for his vaccine skepticism and for promoting alternative treatments like cod liver oil, vitamin A supplements, the steroid budesonide,

In the same way that Ivermectin and bleach DO NOT cure COVID, Budesonide and Clarithromycin DO NOT cure measles.
Quackery kills. Pass it on.
The Health Secretary is promoting quack doctors in the midst of a measles outbreak and literally nothing was more predictable.

Recommending a steroid like budesonide, which suppresses the immune system, as a frontline treatment for measles is well passed stupid - it's monstrous.
In addition to VitaminA (& cod liver oil), RFK has been saying budesonide (a steroid) and clarithromycin (an antibiotic) “treat” measles. Neither treats measles - although steroids & antibiotics may sometimes be used for complications - and there are significant risks (ie HARMS) associated with them

just a crumb of budesonide. free my intestines

Why are vaccines bad but "budesonide and clarithromycin" are good?

‘Kennedy told reporters that there were "many, many good ways to treat measles and doctors need to know that and to know those methods.’

One problem; there is no treatment for measles. Signed, a doctor who’s been forced to deal with measles because of this stupid fraud.

Kennedy recently claimed that children with measles are doing really well with budesonide and cod liver oil because of the latter's high vitamin A and D content.

For clarity:
- there is no evidence supporting a role for budesonide or corticosteroids in management of measles:

Want a specific example of the death by a thousand cuts that is #PriorAuthorization?

Here is an example from yesterday in clinic

A short 🧵

I get a note in my inbox that a patient of mine was denied inhaled budesonide for their asthma

Secy Kennedy's nonprofit Children's Health Defense also spoke to doctors about treating measles

In addition to providing prescriptions of budesonide and supplies of cod liver oil, they've told parents to ask for budesonide if kids hospitalized

Aerosolized budesonide and clarithromycin don’t treat measles (it’s a virus- it doesn’t respond to antibiotics).

For the head of HHS to be messaging this in the middle of an outbreak that has killed two children is… despicable.

Once again the Budesonide, unless the patient has underlying asthma, is very likely making these kids worse. From NIH StatPearls

It’s not medical advice to advocate for vaccines when you head the nation’s largest public health agency and it’s your charge.

Arguably, however it is (very bad) medical advice when you promote useless interventions such as budesonide, vitamin A, clarithromycin as a false equivalent to vaccines
RFK Jr, Secretary of HHS: "I don't think that people should take medical advice from me".

The measles vaccine is proven to work. It has saved millions of lives. That’s an undeniable fact, no matter what anyone says.

The ‘treatments’ repeatedly touted by RFK Jr—budesonide, clarithromycin, and cod liver oil—do not. No matter what anyone like him says. 🧵

Why is it okay for their children to take one medicine, the steroid budesonide, but not another, the measles vaccine? I'm trying to understand the logic.

In extremely preterm infants receiving surfactant, early intratracheal budesonide may have little to no effect on survival free of bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

They’re teathered to the corrupt health/wellness/influencer industry pedaling ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, budesonide, clarithromycin, vitamin A, anything they can purchase in bulk at low cost, and jack up the price.

Antivaccine activists don’t care about you or your family

It's budesonide but everything else you said remains true.

This excerpt from the article about Children's Health Defense and Dr. Ben Edwards treating measles in Texas is maddening. Nebulized budesonide (Pulmicort) is specifically contraindicated in measles.

NIH StatPearls from 2023 explains below.
