this is an excellent question and the answer is no! first, there are all types of cancers, but only the lymphatic kind can be identified by flow. that’s your leukemias/lymphomas. in the pediatric pop. i am almost always looking at blood/marrow, this is unique bc burkitts is a lymphoma. (cont)

Ebv causes burkitts lymphoma, and researchers are still trying to figure out why more african kids develop it. Sadly, when it happens, the life expectancy is as little as 3 or 4 months if not weeks in some cases. Burkitts is profoundly rare without ebv infection- no more ebv... no more burkitts
