Yet another invasive plant! This one is bad for Monarch butterfles, wrecks biodiversity, spreads like wildfire. Not yet problematic in #cherokeenation but it's coming hard and fast! Swallow wort. Bad news. 😵

Since returning from Devon , i've been to trying to see & photograph some local Purple Hairstreak butterfles [thx Sandy M]. They spend alot of time at the top of Oak trees, so can be hard to see, let alone photograph.

Lepidopteran love is in the air at Chapel Common, lowland heath, just in West Sussex, on the border with Hampshire. Six-Spot Burnet moths (common), Zygaena filipendulae, and Silver-Studed Blue butterfles (rare, GB Red List), Plebejus argus. @savebutterflies.bsky.social
