Gas tax breaks are bandaids at best. Real solution is to help low & middle-income Cdns get off fossil fuels. Invest in solar, heat pumps, batteries, EVs. Tackle barriers, offer real incentives & fund w/ windfall tax on Big Oil (who are laughing all the way to the bank). Cleaner, cheaper, healthier.

For me, it’s a sum of Carney’s domestic actions that will affect his polling. If Poilievre was passing these measures - corporate tax cuts, relaxing environmental rules and creating labour constraints - the % of Cdns that support Carney would be outraged. I just don’t see benefit to most Cdns.

If Americans think a Canadian will buy an American car after the U.S. stated its goal is to destroy Canadian industry, I'll prove them wrong. Never again. Given the current average price of a new car is $50,000, this is the biggest 'choosing with your wallet' moment most CDNs have #cdnpoli #uspoli
