CUPW has been pushing for this for years but Canada Post leadership continues to sabotage the organization
Did you know you can bank at the post office in China?

With nearly 40,000 banking outlets, China’s postal banking system brings affordable financial services to millions of people, including in rural communities.

2027 should be the year of the #Union!
CUPW is not my union but the information they have here is useful for anyone across #Canada and is a great starting point I’m sure for many!

🚨The #Canadian government wants to make it easier for companies to keep wages low and harder for workers to push back, by weakening the #righttostrike and collectively #bargain.

Not on our watch. Send a message to the government now.

@cupwsttp.bsky.social just sat in on the Bill 39 national phone call. Thank you CUPW for supporting.

Here’s a clip from PMCARNEY at the 2025 NATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEBATE talking about Charter of Rights and Freedoms Of Canadians and govt taking those rights away. bsky.app/profile/spud...
It is exactly what he is done with this BillC39. Changing definition of workers to essential to encompass any sector that inconveniences supply chain does NOT MEAN ESSENTIAL! It’s dirty and breaks trust in govt Here is a clip from his election debate less than 2 years ago

“The Charter of Rights and Freedoms exists to protect Canadians from people like us, on the stage. Politicians who may use their power to override fundamental rights. And the issue, nursing by the Federal govt, and I’ll stop here…

Is not where you START, but where will you STOP.” ~ PMMARKCARNEY

Inbox just now.

Between C-5 and C-39 (and there will likely be project- and job action-specific lawsuits as well as ones launched challenging the bills themselves) Build Canada Strong is a stimulus package for lawyers.

Canadians enjoy parental leave thanks to CUPW holding them “hostage”. The right to bargain collectively is in the constitution and I expect that this legislation will be challenged in court as it should be.

I have some leftover issues with CUPW, the Canadian postal union, but if this shit was happening up here I can guarantee you the union would have either forced the issue re: training or else set up their own workshops.

Last night President Laura Walton brought greetings to CUPW Ontario region leaders & activists at their Education Workshop weekend! A special highlight was Prevention Link staff Jody Jones presenting the Prevention Link activist award to Lina McLean - Regional Education & Organization Officer.

Happy to be at Labour Day yesterday. I will always support the workers who make Scarborough run and the unions that fight for them. From CUPE Local 79 to ATU Local 113 to CUPW-STTP , SEIU Local 2 and beyond.

Thank you, yes.

I hadn’t intended to imply that CUPW was behind 18-month leave although, upon re-reading the post, it sounded a bit like that.

In Canada, significant parental leave with new children (born to you or adopted). 1 year, typical; in some cases up to 18 months.

Primarily due to Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), back in the 70s.

[cont.] My neighbour Alana, a postal worker from CUPW Hamilton 548, is one of those people.

Before we really knew each other, Alana witnessed me being subjected to transphobic threats which resulted in charges. She could have kept walking.

Sweet mother of pearl! I'm sure this is news to my brothers and sisters in CUPE. And Unifor, CUPW, etc.
The trade genius Howard Lutnick BELIEVED CANADA DIDN’T HAVE UNIONS. Yes, he actually said that. 🤦🏽‍♂️

And he claimed that's why auto manufacturers "moved" there.

(Canada has: ✅always had a huge auto industry, and ✅yes has unions.) THIS is the mental wattage working on Canada-US trade👇

Looking forward to listening to this one on my drive home today.

I'm in a resolution writing and debate class to get prepared for CUPW convention, which promises to be one hell of a weekend in May.
