i saw a quick little post about #ChimeraLinux last week. I tried it on a #RaspberryPi, and liked it. I had a spare partition on my desktop and am trying the regular x86_64 version now. Really enjoying it. One can live without #SystemD, and this #Distro is #Declarative and has a fork of C, I believe.

Is this needlessly complicated for such a low-traffic website? Yes, but I wanted to try to make it faster for more people.

turns out, i'm not too good at building a desktop environment on my own. I could do it in NixOS but having trouble with ChimeraLinux. I had Wayfire going but get getting SegFaults with the panel... ugh. Tried deleting & adding Plasma. Leftover ENV-vars... trying XFCE now. it's gotta work. just gotta

I got the little M6 Ultra mini PC up and running today. The RAM and NVMe drive I had on hand are working well in it. I'm also quite relieved that it runs quietly. It's running a minimal Chimera Linux install. Pulls about 6W idle. #chimeralinux
